After Barkha Dutt, another NDTV journalist opens up against the channel's anti freedom of speech stand

When we listent Barkha Dutt and Nikhil Gokhale we assume that they are bringing the truth out withpout fear and any pressure whether from their channel or outside.

But the recent developmentrs which are taking place and many prominent journalist speaking out in public domain against the NDTV's culture of suppressing truth has made us realize whether the channele is controlled by some one in power or is working to favor some one.

Here is the Facebook post which Nitin wrote and said it is NDTV's culture of suppressing his Freedom of Speech that forced him to leave the organization.

The complete letter that he wrote is " I have never spoken about this in public earlier. This happened exactly three years ago.
After it’s telecast at least five times in both Hindi and English, NDTV management deemed contents of the interview with Adm DK Joshi to be defamatory and decided to drop it. My suspicion was more than being defamatory, Admiral Joshi’s barbs hit some old NDTV associates and friends hard and therefore the decision to remove the interview and its full transcript. All the high sounding principles of supporting and protecting everyone’s freedom of expression, went out of the window the moment one of the own NDTV insiders was attacked. There was no regard for the Admiral’s FoE. ( For those interested, here’s the link to the full interview: ‪https://youtu.be/kurE1XHgYAE via @YouTube‬ Judge for yourself which portion was defamatory. Or not).
It would have been easy for me to continue since the interview was already telecast and the world had saved it, archived it. Many before and after me have stuck on in NDTV even after many such insults.
Instead, I thought its time to move on and leave behind a place which outwardly is suave, sophisticated and ‘liberal,’ but in reality is full of nepotism, favouritism and clannish, designed to protect and promote PLUs ( for the uninitiated, People Like Us—public school educated, residents of tony neighbourhoods, children of wealthy and/or people in high positions). To be fair, a plebeian like me had been allowed to enter the world of NDTV not because any favour was being done but because that was the need of the time in 2006. To be fair, I enjoyed the stint and gained a higher profile because I proved my worth but an unseen glass ceiling always existed for us ‘outsiders.’
So when the Admiral Joshi interview was removed, i realised there is no guarantee that this would not be repeated. So, instead of whining on social media, I decided to quit and in less than a month, left NDTV without a fuss, stepping into an uncertain future. But the decision was worth its risk. While the association with NDTV was good when it lasted, there comes a time when one has to take a stand.
In the past 36 months, not for a moment have I regretted that decision, thanks to unwavering support from the family and help from friends and well wishers."
