NDTV removes stories of Jay Shah: Reporters angry with their employers move to suppress truth

Why NDTV is removing Jay Shah stories from it's websites. Many reporters and journalists have faced this issue time and again. Barkha Dutt has made a huge revelation that she along with Nitin Gokhale faced the same issue when P. Chidambaram's story was removed from the website.

Sreenivasan Jain, who covered the follow up story on Jay Shah, first published in wire has accused NDTV of removing his stories from the website and taken on Facebook about the issue.

We have seen this happening many times, however when it happens because of some political pressure, vendetta or with a purpose of saving someone with huge political clout and money power it kills the very basis of Journalism.

Democracy is principle which must be practiced and it can be done only where there is transparency of process and freedom of speech.

Media has always worked in tandem with politics in any country. However, the basic duty of any news publishing company is to bring out the truth in the public domain and grill down the person who has been accused of any wrong doing without any prejudice.

In past few years, we have observed that there are few right, few left and few center leaning journalists have come up but it has become very difficult to remain unbiased.

Being unbiased, from our point of view is of utmost important trait which all journalists must possess. However, it seems this is being seen as a weakness rather than good habit.

Journalism as a profession teaches us not to reach to the conclusion and just bring out the truth in public domain and let public decide through democratic means which our constitution has provided.

In the case of, Arushi's murders, media kept on pointing fingers at her parents and made them look like villains if not murderers in the eyes of common public.

Every one still thinks that they must be hiding some truth of the case even after they got acquitted from the High court.

In the end I would like to say that, please be true to the profession in which you are and follow its guidelines. Money is important to run a business however opting wrong means to earn even a single penny will ruin the business prospect in the long term
